We Are Thankful That So Many Famous People Are Phonies

For our readers overseas, the American “Thanksgiving” holiday is usually a time to sit around a table with relatives we seldom see, eat massive amounts of turkey and side dishes, and listen to grandma bitch about why no one ever calls, and how come Cindy was late to cousin Earl’s funeral, and if Jim just came out of the closet we’d all be much happier, thank-you-very-much.

Ah … good times.

DECEIVER-dot-com-GIBLET-CZAR

But you don’t come here for family moments that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. So here’s a Thanksgiving serving of Deceiver casserole for you Americans. Just so you’ll have something to talk about tomorrow besides Aunt Rachel’s botox.

You non-Americans, just play along like usual, ok?

  1. U.S. politician (and former Muppet model) Bob Barr is complaining about PETA. Seems they’ve got their own VISA affinity card. VISA sponsors the Kentucky Derby.
  2. MSNBC droid™ Chris Matthews suggested that a Sarah Palin book-signing was a racist event because of all the white faces in the crowd. And then Michelle Malkin was all–You’re so white, Mr whitey-honky-cracker network. You betcha.
  3. Miley Cyrus told a radio interviewer this week that the whole Twilight movie phenomenon is “a cult. I think it’s bad.” How exactly is this different from all the screaming brats who obsessed over her “Hannah Montana” movie and all its retarded mentally challenged merchandising? Sorry, Miley. No vampire. Not yours.
  4. Rebecca Gayheart is pregnant, you guys! And she’s totally healthy, telling the press that she’s “doing yoga, and I’m walking on the beach every day with my dogs for about an hour. I drink lots of water and eat a lot of vegetables and protein. And I chain smoke unfiltered Pall Malls.”  Okay, I added that last part. (Who is Rebecca Gayheart, again? Oh yeah.)
  5. The newspaper headline of the month comes from a story about Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, in Toronto’s Globe and Mail: “Harper lauds press freedom in speech, doesn’t take questions from reporters.”
  6. A group of pissed-off Catholics in Washington, DC is asking the faithful to help them gather “reports on every gay priest in the Archdiocese,” figuring that they’re hypocrites if they don’t complain about the church’s position on gay marriage. Snaps for the website name. Clever.
  7. The New York Times blog says it won’t reprint any of the now-famous “ClimateGate” hacked e-mails for its readers, because, you know, private letters are nobody’s beeswax. Mighty principled of them, dontcha think? … What’s that about the Pentagon Papers? And the Times blog linked to Sarah Palin’s hacked e-mails last year? Oh. Never mind.

Discuss. And quit hogging the pumpkin pie. Some of us down here haven’t had any.

On this blog, every day is Turkey Day.

Thank you for the laughs. Sad to think that these actually happened. Tomorrow is a day to be thankful and I am thankful that my husband was able to get home for 2 days to celebrate the day with me. I am thankful that there are men and women who will volunteer to defend our great nation and say “not on my watch” and even defend those who are deceiver worthy. :)

Enjoy Thanksgiving with your hubby, Angry Army Wife. And a big thanks and a sloppy kiss to all the men and women in uniform protecting my big butt and this great country.

I’m thankful for this site but more importantly, stupid simple things like cold milk and how I can get some so easily. Take nothing for grated… nothing IS granted.

And kudos ad infinitiumilitus to AAW’s hubby and the many others serving the same… they are better people than I.

    AAW,

We thank you for your dedication to this country. Your great love for one of our dedicated and wonderful soldiers goes a lot further than any words we can express. Please thank your husband and his batallion for their dedication and all they give to us, especially those who are deceiver worthy.

It is very difficult to be speak of thanks and complain at the same time.

What would we do without these deceivers to entertain us. And all of you and your comments. Insightful, funny and intelligent. Can’t be said about a lot of other sites.
And Angry Army Wife – you and your husband’s commitment to this country – I am so grateful.
    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

If I could afford it, I’d fly you all into the LA area and host a big dinner.

Lovin’ all of you, here and overseas.

I am thankful for Deceiver and all the great people who post. It is five minutes of fun whenever I need and lately that has been a lot. I am NOT thankful that I haven’t found a good monitor cleaner for all the times I have spit Diet Mountain Dew all over the screen.
    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving, each and every one of y’all. I am thankful for Deceiver, for the commenters here, for our freedom graciously and nobly ensured by all those who CAN’T be at home with their loved ones today (and by those who will never see home again). God bless our armed forces; they are the best of America. May we live to be worthy of their sacrifices.

I’m thankful for my family, friends, and for God’s unconditional love. Which I am STILL TRYING to learn to show towards others. Except for the @#%^ hypocrites we read about here–they gotta suck the pipe. But everybody else? Nothin’ but love, y’all. Nothin’ but love.

I’m thankful that there are still some intelligent, watchful people out there with a sense of humor. Right when I think the whole world is either corrupted or a bunch of freakin’ idiots, coming on here makes me feel soooo much better!

Opinions expressed in these comments are those of the commenters, and probably don't represent the views of your humble Deceiver bloggers. If your comment doesn't appear right away, please be patient. We "moderate" comments to sift out spam, obscenities, and harassment.

All (civil) opinions are welcome. And if you can't be civil, at least be entertaining!
