Courtney Love Slams Daughter for Not Being a ‘Private Person’

frances-bean-courtney-loveCourtney Love’s lawyers advised her to quit Twitter in October after she was slapped with a libel suit from a designer she bashed in Tweets. But apparently they never mentioned anything about Facebook, which is where she now posts her ill-conceived rants against the people who done her wrong.

The latest person to suffer her rants? None other than 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain, over whom she has now lost legal guardianship at Frances Bean’s request.

So like any good mom who totally deserves custody, Love retaliated by posting on her own wall:

“I hate to sound cold but any kid of mine who pulls this shit has lost her position. She was deceptive, she lied and she’s lying to herself. My daughter is not always honest. She is clearly deluded if she thinks she can buy her grandmother a small house in L.A. I’d love to see how that works. She thinks she has all this money. The point is, I have all the money she has.”

And today?

“this is like a hand grenade got thrown into our lives and its not Frances! i am angry at these people not Frances id just prefer she not become Jaimie L Spears, she should go be a writer or an a…rtist wich i support 100% but this is a circus and it pains me cos i know she hates it.

“and i very uch miss my daughter being a private person, and i very much miss my daighter, i know she knows how miserable i am im despairing and so sad, so so sad, but i just want to help her be happy, thats it, get her house and get her school and thats all ive ever wanted,”

All things considered, I think Frances Bean has done a great job choosing to avoid the spotlight. Her mom, on the other hand…

Good heavens. Frances actually looks like she’s…what’s the word I’m looking for…

    …ALIVE.

Courtney Love’s status updates just go on and on and on and on. She sounds so desperate. But still you don’t feel any sympathy for her.

If Courtney Love were self-aware, instead of merely self-obsessed, she’d be someone else. She’d be TRYING to be someone else, anyway. The woman has spent the past two or three decades on everything but skates, y’all.

Yeah but how many people have slammed Courtney Love?

  5. 5 Nimrod Dec 18th, 2009 at 12:42 am

I have not slammed Courtney Love. Today.

    Yesterday on the other hand…

Seriously, I relegate Courtney Love, Chris Brown, LiLo, and so on to the ‘Get Over There Because I Don’t Care’ pile of trivial information that sticks in my head and in my craw at the same time.

Read that second post she made today. That reads like she is drunk, stoned, or any combination of those two states. I had to look at that twice to see all of the typos, much less not being able to make a ‘I’.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the fact that her own daughter requested that her mom NOT be her guardian speaks volumes.

Nice to see that she managed to prove (yet again) what a sad pathetic excuse for a human being she really is. She doesn’t deserve anything in life, definitely not the custody of her daughter.

“The point is, I have all the money she has”

CL has money? That’s news to me. I thought she was “broke” and owed money all over town. I guess I stand corrected then. Who knew those ill-gotten gains would last so long.

California Dave~ Yes, Francis does look alive, and if I’m not mistaken that is a ‘get me the hell away from this crazy zombie’ look in her eye. Or it could be, ‘oh, here we are at the subway station, you go first Mom, watch out for the 3rd rail’. Seriously, it looks like she is about to shove her.

yes of course everyone hates courtney i mean come on the woman lost the love of her life and then the whole world started blaming her for his death ( imagine how she must ahve felt) and now she loses custody of her daughter which i’m sure she loves….i can assume she’s not always been a fit parent cos of the drug problems but she’s gotten clean it’s not like she’s a junkie whore living on the streets ( they too by the way deserve sympathy i’m sure many of those people are much closer too god then the fucking hypocryts/conformists that rule this rotten society that does nothing but judge and wants to kill all the people who ar edifferent or dysfunctional ….) the ponti is that courtney is a smart person with abig heart you can see it from her music lyrics interviews….even if she comes off as a negative image to most people its only because she’s real and says what’s on her mind….there are very few people in this world who actually have a personality of their own rather then the common cattle call deased type of personality…and of course thos epeople are always judged and evryone wants them dead…point is give the woman a break….why does evryone hate her so much

She is just upset that her Dad got out from under CL and she was left alone in her care.

Look at how cold and stiff it looks, they are standing apart body-wise and they both have stilted smiles, their is no warmth between them, neither looks pleased to be there(where ever they are) or with each other. Call me a softy but it kinda makes me sad for the daughter that she has no father and evidently not much of a mother, I would like to believe she loves her daughter, but I believe these people are heavily damaged.

“why does evryone hate her so much”

    Cuz of this maybe?

“Courtney Love recorded an infamous video audition in which she exclaimed “I am Nancy Spungen.”

For real. Nancy was her idol apparently. Maybe that’s why people hate her. I don’t like her and I absolutely despise Nirvana, so I couldn’t care less that that guy blew the top of his head off. In fact I might actually think she was alright if she’d really done it.

Any daughter who wishes to be away from her mom has got to have a solid reason. sounds like Frances was raised by someone right after all. Kudos to the Grandma!

i mean come on the woman lost the love of her life

No, she didn’t. If “the love of her life” isn’t being injected into a vein, then it’s staring back at her from the mirror every day. Whoever or whatever the love of Courtney’s life is or was, it was not Kurt “I have the kind of dirty hair that serious thought always seems to cause” Cobain. And it also isn’t her daughter, in front of whom she once ODed, if memory serves. Courtney Love is a gutter skank, whose only claim to any sort of marginal fame is the fact that she once hung all over a minor flash in the pan more effectively than his other hygiene-challenged groupies did. Her only genius seems to lie in the ability to find new ways to shoehorn herself into the public’s attention, even if it means pulling egregious stunts like the ones mentioned above.

  16. 16 Jannah Dec 18th, 2009 at 4:28 pm

So sad. I liked Nirvana back in the day, it was fun. But Pasta’s right, anyone who picked Spungen as a roll model has serious issues. Altho in her defense, was that video made for her audition for the role in “Sid And Nancy” in which she ended up with only a bit-part?

I’m not defending her, don’t get me wrong, she’s severely out of touch with reality and I can see a possible OD in the near future, if only just for the attention *if* she gets found in time. But I remember reading that her father said that she was messed up as a kid, and the parents were hippies, and they gave her LSD, blah, blah, blah. She needs some Dr. Drew STAT, if it’s not too late.

So glad that Francis has somehow come out of Grunge Family mold as a decent person, I agree, Brava Gramma!

Courtney Love has lost custody of Frances Bean more than once to Wendy O’Donnell, Kurt Cobain’s mother, which is extraordinary given that the authorities never get involved if the rich and famous are abusive or neglectful of their children.

Perhaps Frances Bean has a chance at a stable life now. Soon the kid will be 18 and in college, away from that hot mess of a momma. I’m sad for her though. She’s been in a cauldron of dysfunction her whole life and Courtney Love is herself the product of that same kind of dysfunction.

  18. 18 trent bowie Dec 18th, 2009 at 7:19 pm

Hey, at least Frances has enough sense to know her mom’s a mess. At least she’s trying to have a normal life.

  19. 19 AllyKat Dec 19th, 2009 at 12:37 am

It’s a wonder that Frances is still alive, considering that neither parent was/is stable. My sister is a social worker, and most kids who have parents on drugs are wrecks even after they get away into foster care. It’s sad, but it is almost impossible for someone on drugs to care about a kid constantly. Drugs come first, and the kid knows it. Here’s hoping the girl makes it, despite her parents poor choices.

What money would that be, Courtney?

Run Frances, run far far away…

  21. 21 bigmama Dec 19th, 2009 at 5:31 pm

Despite Courtney’s apparent best efforts, her kid seems pretty okay. It’s a shame her mom couldn’t get it together for a few years to take care of her. I wish only the best for Frances. And I wish Ms. Love would pull her head out of her butt for more than a few minutes and realize she missed some of the best years of her and her daugher’s life.

If it’s any comfort, I read an interview with Frances Bean Cobain in Vogue (or was it Elle? can’t remember) some time ago, and for what little it’s worth, she sounded very smart and grounded and upbeat. When they asked her about her favorite music, she started gushing about musicals, and they dressed her for the photoshoot as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Eva Peron from Evita, etc. and it was really cute. Sometimes good kids happen to awful people.

And for additional unpleasant dirt, look up Courtney Love’s mom sometime. She’s a very famous psychiatrist, and in an interview with Psychology Today, she basically said she thinks she failed Courtney. I feel bad for all of them, really.
