Quick update on Simon Monjack.
Brittany Murphy’s husband has suddenly called off the fundraising party he was throwing in her honor tomorrow night — but the man who pulled the plug isn’t saying why …
[G]uests for the event received the following email from someone at the Brittany Murphy Foundation, “So sorry but the memorial has been canceled due to an illness in the family.”
We spoke with Rabbi David Baron, who was supposed to conduct the memorial, who told us when the call came in, the person who canceled never gave a reason.
I guess the timing clashed with the triathalon he was planning to compete in.

I understand that the coronor paid widower and mother a visit today to ask some more questions. Mainly, why did not seek treatment for months if she was in that much pain leading up to her death? CAuse of death was pnemonia, drug use and iron deficincy.
I just saw the article in “People”, stating that her death was preventable. It is so effing sad that Brittany Murphy (who was hardly Oscar bait, but reportedly a very nice person) is gone, and Speidi and Kanye West are still on this side of the grass. DAMN.
She was a good actress, actually…I thought she was really good in “Girl, Interrupted”. What I never understood is why she decided to lose so much weight (she never needed to lose weight in the first place) and be in all those Eminem and Ashton Kutcher movies…She used to be different, she used to stand out, then she decided to become just another young blond thin mainstream Hollywood actress. That was quite a disappointing change and it didn’t help her career at all.
