Gun Enthusiasts Heidi and Spencer Now Totally Into Yoga

When I found this in my e-mail this morning, I didn’t know whether to be flattered or suspicious:

Heidi Montag followed suit a few hours later, so now my suspicions are confirmed: Heidi and Spencer are reading about themselves on Deceiver, y’all. (Trust me — it’s not because I’m wildly popular on Twitter, probably due to my penchant to only tweet about what I’m about to order at Starbucks. But to my nine followers: Love you guys.)

So anyway, it didn’t take long to find an angle to make this worth blogging about and add more content to their resume here. The Pratts seem to be on some kind of Kundalini yoga kick, with Spencer dropping new-age wisdom bombs like the following:

“The awakening of the inner Kundalini is the true beginning of the spiritual journey” Swami
1:16 AM Feb 3rd from Echofon

Ah, so true, young grasshopper. Which clearly does not explain this photo:

Because when I think “inner yogi,” I think “firing large semi-automatic weapons at targets resembling people.”

Oh right, and if you want to be cool like Heidi and Spencer, you can follow me here.

I thought they were born again Christians?

To quote Yoda on these two: “Slap you like a bitch, I will!”

    Be suspicious.

Now I will admit to finding target shooting to be an incredibly zen activity. (Clear your mind, focus on the target, squeeze the trigger a little, find the space between breaths, relax, find the space between heartbeats, squeeze a little more until the rifle fires). Once you’re used to it, the loud bang isn’t startling. Even a more rapid rate of fire can be calming. So on the one hand I don’t see how inner peace and yoga are at odds with shooting firearms.

On the other hand – people who take photos like that are not into firearm-zen. And I think that it would be awful charitable to assume that zen is the appeal of shooting in this case.

(And that looks like the kind of photo the news report shows while a neighbor says “He was such a nice, quiet boy . . . “)

    Elle,

I know what you mean…target shooting is a great way to relieve stress.

As for Heidi and Spencer…they will do anything for a few days to get some attention. This week it’s yoga, apparently.

Isn’t that the “semi-automatic weapon tree pose?”

I took the liberty of looking up “Kundalini Yoga” and I stumbled on this Wikipedia article.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kundalini_syndrome

Apparently, like guns, Kundalini should be handled with care, so I think I get the connection.

Awww, I love you too Holly.

P.S. I would throw up a little if I saw them following me.

I’m just waiting for Heidi to jar something loose by recoil or something. I mean, she IS Krazy-Glued together, right? If she’s slapped together as well as my kids’ Bionicles, this ought to make for some hilarious photos.

I see that picture and all I can think is shouting “Rule 3, jackass!”

Okay, so I kinda get the hypocrisy, based mostly on Spencer’s stupid ramblings about his new found wisdom or whatever. And of course everyone knows they are Hollywood’s two biggest douches. But I don’t think there’s anything hypocritical about practicing yoga and owning firearms both. My husband and I do.

Well Spencer…if indeed you are reading this…there’s a concept called “Trigger Discipline”. It states that you keep your damn finger off the trigger until the weapon is pointed down-range and on target! I hope somebody took those guns away from you with a quickness! Heed my words next time you want to awaken your inner Rambo.

  14. 14 Beige Feb 7th, 2010 at 7:38 am

Shhhhhh, Math Major. Don’t educate Tart and Retart on firearm SAFETY. His ineptness just might be the means by which the world shrugs off those odious two.

Now now… Give them a break. They’re just starting out. O.o What hypocrites.

What do you want to bet he didn’t check the safeties or the chambers before taking that pic?

Seriously, if some yahoo were doing that at my local range the regulars would be having a pretty strongly worded discussion with him.
